Lethie Matilde Wilson de LoweMother of CyberNews editor Carmela Gobern, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2005 after suffering a massive stroke on May 1. She was a dedicated member of Wesley Methodist Church (Iglesia Metodista Wesleyana) and was honored as "Mother of the Year" in 1971 by the Senior Wesley Guild of the Methodist Church. Lethie had a keen sense of humor; she was charitable and enjoyed helping others whenever there was a need.  Godliness, unselfishness, genuine sincerity toward everyone were just some of the attributes in her character.  The funeral service was held on Saturday, June 4, 2005 at 9:30 a.m. at Wesley Methodist Church in Panama City.  Burial followed at Jardin de Paz Cemetery.  Survivors include daughters, Cynthia Lowe, Melva Lowe de Goodin, Carmela Lowe de Gobern; son Roberto "Bob" Lowe; stepdaughter Dorotea Lowe Bryce; sons-in-law Orville Goodin and Alonso Gobern; grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loved ones in Panama, Jamaica and the United States. She was predeceased by her husband Oscar Lowe on January 9, 1983.
